Thornhope Elevator has been a huge part of my kids 4H careers. My oldest son worked there. Last week, fire damaged a majority of the elevator and it was hard to see the pictures of a true local landmark turning to rubble. Volunteer fire departments from five counties helped do what they could to minimize damage, and once again prove how valuable these outfits are for rural counties. We are truly blessed to be in an area where our neighbors answer the call and put themselves in harms way, even when the result is a foregone conclusion. Thank you to all those volunteer firefighters who assisted with this fire last week, you are truly incredible.
Additionally, a huge shout out to the Pulaski Co. EMS who assisted and were there to help ensure all those working the fire had skilled medical professionals there to see that everyone made it home. Thank you!
